First of all "Happy New Year" to all and Thank You for all the holiday orders from our repeat customers and friends.

Now that the hustle and bustle of the holidays are about over. It is time to look forward to a new year with our many satisfied customers. We are busy planning another successful year in our search for the best gift baskets and unique gift ideas. So visit the store often to see what Larry, Paul and Ellen come up with this year.  

January is a great time to send a fresh fruit basket or warming gift like a Coffee gift basket to our northern friends and family that are sitting by their fireplaces to take the chill off from shoveling all of that snow. January 6th is "Cuddle day" what a great reason to send a plush animal to let those you love know you are thinking of them even if you can't be there in person.  Our Favorite for the month of January is on January 16th "National Nothing Day" wish them a great new year and that you are thinking of them at the start of this new year.  

We can't forget February 14th Valentine's Day. We all can't be on winter cruises to the Caribbean or Mexico, but we surely can show our loved ones that we are thinking of them with Chocolate or romantic gifts.  From tots, teens, tweens, to mom, sweethearts and everyone special in your lives, there is always a special surprise arrival that can be found to fit your needs.

Let us also not forget the many men and women in our armed forces that are not home at this time, send a special care package filled with their favorite treats. Let them all know our hearts are with them.  

Now let's see if the groundhog sees his shadow, can Spring be far behind.

New Years Menu or any time.. 

Appetizer

1 bunch of Asparagus(blanched)

1/4 lb. of thinly sliced Prosciutto or sweet ham cut in long thin strips

1/2 cup of balsamic & garlic salad dressing

Marinate Asparagus in salad dressing in frig for one hour

Remove and wrap Prosciutto(ham) around each spear and arrange on plate.

 

Entree

Peppered Pork Chops

1 tbs. crushed black pepper

6 pork loin chops 1/2 inch thick

1/2 stick butter

2 tbs. olive oil

4 cloves garlic gut

1 cup sliced mushrooms

1/2 tsp. salt

1/2 cup Marsala wine or apple juice 

Cover chops with pepper. Heat butter and oil in 12 inch skillet over medium-high heat. Stir in garlic and sauté till golden. Add Chops, cook uncovered 5 minutes and turn over. Add mushrooms, salt and wine. Cover and simmer about 5-7 minutes longer till done.

Serve with salad of choice.

Dessert

"Warm Apple and Cranberry Pie"

2 frozen pie crust

2 cans of apple pie mix

1/2 can of whole cranberry sauce.

Thicken apple pie mix and cranberry sauce with little flour and pour into one pie crust. Sprinkle with sugar and cinnamon,  Place top crust over pie and egg wash crust. Put on foil lined cookie sheet and bake 45 minutes at 425 degrees, sprinkle with brown sugar while crust is hot.
